Biographies, regardless of how succinct and to the point they may endeavour to be, are a persistent pain in my posterior. Let me explain why, and I’ll try to do so without being overly florid: it’s impossible to establish a reasonable facsimile of a person’s character by listing a few paltry pastimes and preoccupations. That is, however, what’s usually expected of these things, so regardless of what arbitrary facts I include, you’ll come to whichever conclusion to which you are inclined.
Hi. My name is Kira. I am a graduate of Concordia University in Design Art, with an equivalency in Multimedia from International Academy, and time spent towards my Masters in Art History at McGill. I am in my mid-twenties, and I have an unhealthy love of key lime pie.
How satisfying was that? Not very, I’d wager, so in the spirit of the haphazard and random, I’ll give you a generous spoonful of something else:
Once upon a time, I was seduced by the dream of becoming a writer. I pursued three years in Liberal Arts under the delusion that writing fiction was a successful career choice, and I failed miserably. Not in the academic sense, no – what I mean to say is that after some time, I realized the flame that sparked beneath the proverbial Bunsen burner of my passion was petering. I loved the literature, the history, the study of art and philosophy, but the Muses are a fickle group of harpies who revel in tempting you one day, and who will abandon you the next without as much as leaving a note on the fridge. ![]()

A new year brings in new work; I'm finally catching up with site-wide updates, and with a little luck (and possibly a few sleepless nights) a couple new things ought to be released in the next few months. Be sure to check back under the "Big Ideas" (to your right) to see what else I've got brewing in the idea cauldron.
For now, I'm happy to announce that Elixireleven got its .com back (after many years of having been squatted on) the portfolio is getting some fresh injections of new work, and I've finally, finally overhauled the homepage navigation (flying, flowery vital organs, and all). I'm also working on getting the Cabinet of Curiosities off the ground, though for the moment, WordPress is still being awfully buggy. For now, if you're looking for me, you can find me on Facebook, Livejournal or Twitter.
With the idea factory in full production, I think its safe to say that the up-and-coming work here at Elixireleven embraces a variety of different mediums and methods: Some things I'm working on include the release of an online store, a typography library, and a stable version of the blog. In other, non-design related endeavors, I'm attempting to catalogue the whole of my literary pursuits at IX Nocturne. I'm also brainstorming the first draft of an original novel: its a steampunk-inspired young adult horror-fantasy set in subterranean New York, featuring a smack of the supernatural, and dollop of good old anti-hero-inspired post-teen angst.
Also on the docket is a pet project of mine, Ci-Git. French for "Here Lies", Ci-Git is a photographic exploration of commemorative monuments.
